If you’re anything like me, you believe eating should be enjoyable, delicious, and also social at times. Although there are valid good reasons for a set meal plan, I can’t remember the last time I stuck to a meal plan and ate the exact same foods every single day, without wanting to change something.
By utilising flexible dieting protocols you can see that what I ate today and what I have planned for tomorrow are completely different, however the macronutrient content is almost identical. What does this mean? It means that both days I am eating a controlled amount of protein, carbohydrate, and fat to reach my current fat loss goal.
You’ve probably noticed that tomorrow looks pretty boring to start but pretty damn fun towards the end of the day! Thats because I’ve planned to eat out, and have accounted for the foods I wish to eat. I worked out the nutrient content of those foods first, and then filled the rest of my day with foods that will keep me full and happy, but ultimately I made sure that the measurements of each food hit my macronutrient goals for the day.
Is it hard to do something like this? Initially maybe, but after a few days its simple… I do it daily! I call it “on the fly” nutrition, where I basically just eat whatever I want, whenever I want, and track my intake as I go. Always ensuring that I reach my nutrient goals and don’t go over if I’m trying to lose weight.
